Hart House

Built in 1919 in the theme of Gothic Revival architecture, the Hart House is is an excellent choice to host your Wedding Ceremony, Wedding Reception, Corporate Event or School Formal / Semi-Formal and is a frequent wedding venue for Kooltempo Toronto Wedding DJs. The Hart house features three main spaces to host your reception (Great Hall, Debates Room, Music Room)

If you have a large group the Great Hall is the best option. There is a large outdoor quadrangle adjoining the great hall which is a popular choice among many couples to host wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour during the summer. If you have a smaller group the Music Room and the Debates Room located in the second floor are great choices to host your reception. If you have a medium sized group you can use the debates room for the wedding ceremony and cocktails and the guests can move in to the music room for dinner and return back to the debates room for dancing.

Venue Highlights

• Photographers love hart House as you can get awesome photos due to the Gothic architecture of this venue
• Uprights will enhance the looks (especially if you are opting for the Debates Room or Music Room
• There is no air conditioning at any of the hart house reception halls. Be ready for the warm humidity if your wedding is on a very warm summer day. There were couple of events where we had to move the DJ set-up to the out door patio area to continue the party as the temperature in the Great Hall was unbearable!
• Parking is just outside the Hart House in the University of Toronto premises. Guest might find it a bit tough to find parking very close to the Hart House
• Shared washroom with the public (mainly university students!)
• The venue does not permit music after 1am. Therefore you have a hard cut off at 1am!
